RADCO Passes IAS Re-assessment and Expands IAS Inspection Body Accreditation Certificate

IAS (International Accreditation Service) conducted their laboratory re-assessment in 2011 to confirm RADCO’s continued compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 “General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories”.

The IAS reassessment team reviewed RADCO’s quality system, including testing and quality assurance procedures, training records, equipment and calibration details, internal audits, proficiency and inter-laboratory testing programs, project files and numerous other policy and procedural items. These external assessments provide essential feedback on how closely the laboratory is following the strict requirements of the ISO standard.

We are pleased to report that the assessment team found RADCO operating at the highest levels of proficiency, and in complete compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025.

RADCO also demonstrated several tests to the assessment team and added new test methods to the accreditation scope.

RADCO, having one of the largest scopes of any agency, recently expanded the scope of their IAS Inspection Body Accreditation Certificate (A-650) to more accurately describe the categories for which RADCO is qualified to provide inspection/audit services.

“The new description’s will make it easier for our current clients and potential clients to determine which categories RADCO can provide inspection/audit services for.” said Rick Marchman RADCO Vice President.

The categories are based on CSI Division Categories and include products under Concrete; Masonry; Metal; Wood; Plastics and Composites; Thermal and Moisture Protection; Openings; Gypsum Board Assemblies; Specialties; Plumbing, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning; Gas Appliances; and Structural and Non-structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing of Prefabricated Buildings.
